FINANCIAL OFFICER-CITY OF VILLE PLATTE
 
The City of Ville Platte is accepting applications for a Financial Officer to manage the city's  accounting system. The Financial Officer candidate must have an Accounting degree, with a minimum of 5 years work experience with the accounting degree. Governmental accounting is preferred, but not required. The candidate must have knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles and experience in maintaining the balance of the general ledger. The duties of the Financial Officer will include, but not limited to, reconciling accounts monthly, preparing bank deposits daily, posting and financial statements, data entry and generating monthly reports utilizing an electronic system. The Financial Officer will be responsible for researching, tracking and restoring accounting data, and finding solutions for documented problems and discrepancies immediately. All accounting functions must be in accordance with established governmental accounting standards, procedures and applicable accounting laws. The Financial Officer will also be responsible for the collection and distribution of Ad Valorem taxes. Salary is negotiable and dependent on experience.
